Home School Program

The Ohio Bird Sanctuary offers programming exclusively for home school families! Each session will have a different environmental education theme. The sessions will consist of hikes focusing on the theme for the week, special animal visitors and science based activities.

 

Homeschool Program 2016-2017:

TIME: 1 pm to 3 pm

 

FALL SESSION - "FIELD SCIENTISTS" (September-Novermber)

SEPTEMBER 16- Beginning Birding
OCTOBER 21- Stream Study
NOVEMBER 18- Population Study

 

WINTER SESSION - "ANIMAL INTERACTIONS" (December-February)

December 16- Food Web
January 20- Symbiotic Relationships
February 17- Wildlife Rehabilitation

 

SPRING SESSION - "GOING GREEN" (March-May)

MARCH 17- Living With Wildlife
APRIL 21- Reduce/Reuse/Recycle
MAY 19- Landscaping for Wildlife & Composting

Cost: $10 per student per month ($25 per student per session.) Additional siblings $8 per month ($24 per session.)

OBS Home-school Program is suitable for students K (minimum age 5) through 12th grade.

To promote socialization and maximum participation, we encourage parents to leave their children in the care of the OBS staff during the Home Scool Program. Parents should only remain for the program if the student will not stay without a parent present. Thank you for your trust and understanding.

There will be no more than 20 students accepted per session. In order to hold your spot please send your registration and payment in advance. This program is on a first come, first served basis. You may call us at (419)884-4295 with any further questions.
