The Ohio Bird Sanctuary is a non-profit rehabilitation and education center for Ohio's birds of prey and songbirds. Our goals are to educate the public, provide a safe haven for injured or orphaned birds of prey or songbirds, and give the community a place to experience nature. We provide outreach programs and programs on site, please see our programming page for details and fees.

There is no admission fee for the Sanctuary and we are open year-round.
If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to call us at 419-884-4295. Thank you!

July 13, 2010

Summer is in full swing. We have hosted four weeks of camp and are looking forward to five more. If you have a child between the ages of six and twelve that enjoys nature, we have a few opening left in the July and Augusts camps.
The clinic is starting to quiet down. Most of the young songbirds and raptors have been released. There are few doves and robins that became too social that are still hanging around the aviary so do not be surprised when you visit the Sanctuary if you are greeted by a small feathered friend.
We are sorry to announce that our Bald Eagle, Socrates, died suddenly of a heart attack. His remains will be shipped to Colorado to the federal repository where his feathers can be utilized for native American ceremonies. Temporarily our Turkey vulture Ichabod and American Crow Cece are residing in the eagle enclosure.
New Saturday program: Join our staff and feathered friend in the outdoor amphitheater at 1pm on Saturdays. This 30 minute show will be education and entertaining.
