Fall 2007

This is very exciting time!

Dear Friends, Members and Supporters,

The Ohio Bird Sanctuary is securing its future through the purchase of the 52 acre parcel of property it presently leases from the Heart of Ohio Boy Scout Council. The Sanctuary has entered into a two-year land contract with the Council to purchase the property for $260,000. This is very exciting time and we are looking for your support to help us make this dream come true. These 52 acres have become the home of the Ohio Bird Sanctuary. The Sanctuary has become a valuable asset to the community as an environmental education resource, outdoor recreation, wildlife rehabilitation facility and tourist destination. The Sanctuary’s purchase of the 52 acres would not only secure its own future, but it would support the financial goals of the Heart of Ohio Council.

The Sanctuary has secured a leadership gift from the Wallis Foundation and is presently submitting two additional grant requests to aid in the purchase of the 52 acre preserve. The Sanctuary has been built through the generous donations of individuals, corporations, foundations and a multitude of volunteer hours. This is your chance to help secure the Sanctuary future. Any size contribution is of great value and will make a difference.

I will keep you updated and please contact me if you have any questions about this fund-raising effort. Thank you for all your support.
