Ohio Bird Sanctuary Classroom Rental Boxes

The Ohio Bird Sanctuary offers environmental education boxes for classroom use. For a $25 weekly rental fee, teachers will have a treasure chest of grade appropriate activities at their disposal that focus on scientific concepts. Boxes include museum bird mounts, educational games, books, classroom activities and videos.

Avian Ambassadors
Choose a bird from the list below, pick a class project to raise money to "sponsor" the bird's care, and choose a day for your bird(s) to visit your classroom.

Art Teachers, how would you like to have a live bird model for your classroom while receiving an informal program on the natural history of raptors?

L.U.T.I.F.Y. (Let Us Teach It For You)
A series of five, 45-minute, hands-on presentations to assist you in solidifying some of the science standard concepts for your students.

Field Trip on Wheels
Description: This program is an all-school assembly with six ecological activity stations. Created for school districts with reduced bussing or that are located too far from the Sanctuary for a field trip. The Sanctuary has created fourteen ecological stations. These stations are interactive and are separated into five categories: Treasures in the Forest, All Wet, The Mad Scientist, We Are All Somebody's Dinner, and Adaptation Mastery. Teachers select six stations that best suit their curriculum needs.

Description: A 45 to 60 minute session with three live birds of prey. Program tailored to grade level and state life science standards. Birds are living examples of physical and behavioral adaptations, natural selection, energy transfer, and human's impact on species survival. This program will help your life science curriculum take flight!

Displays (display, live bird, touch table)
Description: The Sanctuary will bring your event to life with the presence of live raptors. Display can be tailored to the theme of your event and can include a touch table and interactive activities (some activities require an additional fee).
