All 2018 internship positions have been filled. Application for our 2019 positions will be accepted starting September 1, 2018
The Ohio Bird Sanctuary offers three internships each calendar year. A winter internship and two summer internships. The winter internship is January through March working approximately 10 hours every weekend assisting with bird care , property management and greeting visitors. Interviews for this position are held during the month of November. The summer internships are May through mid August. One position is as a Bird Care intern the other is the Education Intern. The Bird Care intern assists the Curator of Birds with daily care, learns to do keeper talks and assists with daily operations of the facility. The Education intern works directly with the Youth Program coordinator to provide summer camps and outreach programming. This position is also expected to assist with bird care when necessary. Interviews for summer internships are held during the month of March.
Currently all the Sanctuary's internships are funded through the Fran and Warren Rupp Fund at the Richland County Foundation.
